Your Love Story & The Proposal
How did you two meet?
We met on the pickleball courts—yep, pickleball! After every game, we’d hang around and talk. It wasn’t anything fancy—just chatting about life, our favorite shows, and random stuff. Eventually, it felt like we’d known each other for ages, so we decided to go on a real date. We were both a little nervous, but it turned out to be the best decision.
When did you know they were “the one”?
It wasn’t one big moment—it was more like a bunch of little moments that added up. But if I had to pick one, it was on a road trip a few months into dating. We were driving through the countryside and we were just laughing like idiots. We stopped to watch the sunset, and as we sat there together, wrapped up in a blanket, I just knew.
How did the proposal happen? Was it a surprise?
Fast forward a few years, and we’re on an adventure in Costa Rica. We’d always talked about going there, and when we finally made it to Playa del Coco, it was even more magical than we imagined. We spent the days exploring the jungle, lounging on the beach, and just taking in all the beauty around us. On our last night, we went for a walk on the beach as the sun was setting, painting the sky with these incredible colors.
The Wedding Experience
What was the vision for your wedding day?
Our vision for the wedding day was simple—intimate, relaxed, and filled with love. We wanted it to feel like an extension of who we are as a couple—something that was personal, meaningful, and fun. We dreamt of a day where we could truly connect with our closest family and friends, celebrate our love, and create memories that would last forever.
How did our services (venue, planning, etc.) help bring that vision to life?
Luna Weddings made our dream day a reality from start to finish! From the very beginning, they were there for us, managing all the vendors and handling every detail. We didn’t have to worry about a thing because they took care of everything—everything from coordinating the venue to making sure every vendor was in place. On the big day, the team was there from 7 AM until the last dance, ensuring everything went perfectly and running smoothly.
We had no idea just how much we needed a wedding planner until we were in the thick of it. There were so many little details we hadn't even considered—things that seemed simple but turned out to be really important. My sister did my makeup and eyelashes, which usually hold up perfectly, but apparently Costa Rica had other plans—they started coming off halfway through the ceremony! Thankfully, Kate, our wedding planner, had a spare set ready to go without missing a beat. We also booked live music for the ceremony but totally forgot about needing a mic for the officiant. Of course, Kate had already thought of that too. She saved the day more times than we can count.
Since we had a destination wedding, we were lucky enough to have our closest family and friends with us for a few days, and Luna Weddings helped make that entire experience unforgettable. They arranged fun excursions, like a catamaran ride and a relaxing spa day, so everyone had an amazing time together outside of the wedding. They made sure the whole group could enjoy the time in paradise, making the celebration last longer than just the ceremony itself. It wasn’t just a wedding—it was a whole experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a more magical time.
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
There were so many incredible moments, but the best part was actually getting to spend time with everyone. We were a little worried that, with how fast everything moves on the wedding day, we wouldn’t get the chance to really be present and enjoy the moment. But Kate and Jessy made sure we had those special moments with each other and with our family and friends. Instead of feeling like we were just flying through the day, we were able to slow down, soak it all in, and truly connect with the people who mean the most to us. It was such a gift to be able to enjoy the day—not just rush through it—and Luna Weddings made that possible!
Were there any unexpected moments that made the day even more special?
One unexpected moment that made the day even more special was when we took a moment to step away from the crowd and just be alone for a few minutes. After the whirlwind of the ceremony and reception, we had a quiet moment to take it all in—just the two of us, reflecting on everything that had just happened. It was a beautiful pause that allowed us to appreciate the day, the love, and the people around us before diving back into the celebration. It was a small, quiet moment that turned out to be one of the most meaningful parts of the day.
Advice for Future Couples
What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?
The whole wedding planning process can feel overwhelming at first—there’s a lot of information and decisions to make! It can be easy to get caught up in all the details, but my biggest piece of advice is to not stress. It’s normal to feel like everything’s piling up, but trust that it will all come together in the end. Kate and Jessy will be there every step of the way to take care of all the logistics and keep you on track. They’ll remind you of what really matters and help you stay focused on the fun parts of planning. So, take a deep breath, lean on your planner, and enjoy the ride!
Final Thoughts
How do you feel now looking back on your wedding day?
Looking back, I still feel like I’m floating on cloud nine! It was the most beautiful day, and we’re so thankful to have had the chance to celebrate our love surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. It truly was everything we dreamed of and more.

We just feel incredibly lucky. From the proposal in Costa Rica to the wedding day, everything about this journey has been an adventure we’ll never forget. We’ve learned so much about each other and about love, and we’re beyond excited for what’s next.
